Palmer Bikeway is a part of the Two Rivers Trailway and the 9-11 National Memorial Trail and runs along the Bushkill Stream on former railway lines. Founded in 1978, the Bikeway is one of the first major rail-to-rail projects in the United States, utilizing abandoned rail spurs, towpaths, and utility easements to create an extensive multi-use path for everyone to enjoy. The trail connects with the Tatamy Trail to the north, winding alongside the Bushkill Creek and passing through Forks Township and Wilson Borough. The trail then branches, offering connections to Bethlehem Township and the D&L Trail.
Future connections will create further trail opportunities to connect the City of Easton along the Karl Stirner Arts Trail, Forks Township through Lafayette College, and other new trails and local connections.

Future construction will extend the trail along the Schoeneck Creek towards Upper Nazareth and Van Buren Road, as well as other multi-use paths in planning phases. Another construction will connect the Karl Stirner Arts Trail through an access path and a future development. Additional trailheads and ADA improvements are planned along the entire corridor.
Restrooms are available at Mill Race Park, Penn Pump Park, Fairview Park, and Riverview Park.
Numerous parks dot the Palmer Bikeway, providing numerous recreation opportunities for users to enjoy. The birthplace of the Crayola crayon was at the Binney and Smith factory, located along Edgewood Avenue; several other historic factories and mills lines the corridor, providing insight to the rich industrial heritage of the region
